To diagnose or not....
Emma is currently enrolled in the BHSc Psychology degree, Katie her good friend who she has known for 5 years has been having trouble controlling her emotions and is having shifts in her mood which is interfering with her work, school and social life. Katie has always had a never ending list of problems and has leant on Emma for support for majority of the 5 years, although more recently her moods have become increasingly erratic. Emma as she learns more about psychology and comes to the final year of her degree has felt that Katie might be suffering from Bipolar Disorder.

Emma has a strong indication that Katie is suffering from a Mental Disorder and feels that she should talk to her about Bipolar in order to help Katie feel more comfortable with that she might be going through and give her a possible reason for her turbulent emotions. On the other hand she knows she is hardly qualified to diagnose her friend and it may make the situation worse.
It is proposed that Emma tell katie she may have Bipolar Disorder
