The Values Exchange (VX) is popular with young people, yet we have reached only a handful of schools and within those only a handful of classes. There is the potential to make the VX THE place for young people to be creative online - a place for fun, for thinking, for connecting, even for making a better world one day.
We want to advertise the VX to the world, and we want to keep the VX totally free.
We refuse to take advertisements and we will never ever use anyone's data - unlike almost every other social utility, including Facebook, Twitter, Google, Skype and so on - all of which sell data routinely.
However, we do have to make money to keep making the VX better and better, so we are trying to find a simple and fair way to do this. We are looking at allowing VX members to respond to polls, surveys and Think Screens that are sponsored by companies and government agencies who really want to know what young people think. The VX would sell this information to the sponsor.
Responding would be entirely voluntary. The sponsored surveys would be clearly marked and optional - if a member does not want to respond then they do not have to - everything else on the VX would stay the same.
For those members that do choose to respond there would be bonus XP and probably a chance for prizes. And by responding members would get a chance to tell companies and governments what really matters to them! A real voice for young people.
Please let us know what you think.....
