Should the Navy Punish a Nurse Who Refused to Force-Feed Guantánamo Inmates?

A Navy nurse who refused to manage the force-feeding of hunger-striking inmates at Guantánamo Bay over the summer is now facing a potential discharge and the loss of his pension.

Nurses’ groups have come to his defense, urging the government to be lenient with the 18-year veteran, and reminding officials that a medical professional should not be compelled to act in a manner he finds unethical.

It is proposed that He should be allowed to keep his pension and not be given a dishonorable discharge
