Shark culling is a big problem in Australia at the moment. The laws to kill sharks have been approved by the Western Australian government. But the rallies have continued and raged on against the parliament. About one week ago, a Great White Shark was spotted 500 meters off the shore, and was approved to be culled by the boats who had spotted it.
Australia has widely rallied against these laws in Western Australia and Queensland because the wide majority of the population believe that ANIMAL RIGHTS SHOULD BE BEFORE OUR OWN SAFETY. Is it right that we kill them just so that we can swim in a habitat that belongs to them? Is it right that we kill endangered Great White Sharks when they have only attacked us humans because they feel that we have invaded their environment?
On the other hand of the situation, the vast minority of Australians, including the state governments of Western Australia and Queensland, believe that we should kill this endangered sharks so that we can swim safely in an environment that we do not belong in. On this side of the argument, SAFETY COMES BEFORE ANIMAL RIGHTS. Is it not the logical thing to kill the animal which will kill us instead? Is it really the right thing to let them live when they can attack us at any moment?
