Australian Government spending on private schools has increased at a greater rate than that of public schools over the past five years. A recent Productivity Commission Report has shown on average a private school's total funding is $1.2 million greater ( including non-government funding) than a public school. Given this statistic, should the tax payer be subsidizing these schools to maintain their higher budgets?
It is proposed that the government should redistribute the lion's share of the government funding ( tax payers money) for schools to the public sector.
