The Japanese government will introduce the “health care point system” next year. The new system will give points to anyone participating in any health-related activity to improve their fitness and well-being. Points can be exchanged for gift certificates.
Activities include tracking weight changes and daily exercises, going to annual check-ups, and more. The purpose of this program is to prevent lifestyle-related diseases and to ultimately reduce the government’s medical expenses.
