Reports from the Uk indicate that the country will run out of cemetery space within the next two decades. Despite 74% of the UK population opting for cremation cemeteries are proving unsustainable.
Possible solutions include opening more space for graves but this would mean increased maintenece costs plus limited long term capacity. Another solution would be to force everyone to be cremated which would likely raise significant cultural and religious issues.
Perhaps grave sites will need to be reused with remains being dug up and reburied deeper to accomodate new arrivals?
