Jane
A Case study of Jane admitted in a hospital with ovarian cyst.
Jane is 49 years old and has a learning disability. She has been admitted to hospital after having an ovarian cyst. The cyst has blocked her ureter and if left unattended may result to renal failure. Jane would require an operation to remove the cyst. She has, however, indicated that she does not want to be inserted the anesthetic needle for the operation to remove the cyst. She is not comfortable in the hospital setting and she is frightened of needles. If the cyst is not removed, the clinician says Jane will develop renal failure a situation that would need dialysis. The dialysis would involve the use of needle thus; this would be difficult given her fear of the needles. The doctor is concerned that if Jane fails to comply, physical restraining may be used.
Do you think the doctor should use physical restraining??
It is proposed that The doctors need to make jane understand the situation
