My friend and former work colleague Angela is making a legal claim against the company she used to work for and for which I currently work. The general manager at the company has asked me to look at Angela's sister's Facebook account (I am her Facebook friend) to see if Angela has said anything about the company there. Presumably he is hoping to find evidence against Angela online. What should I do?a) contact Angela and tell her that people are snooping?b) contact Angela's sister and warn her that people are snooping?c) tell the manager there's nothing on Facebook about the company, even though I haven't actually looked (makes me look bad but throws them all off the scent)?d) just say to hell with it, it's in the public domain so not really private, and show him?e) tell the manager it's against my personal ethics to do this?f) do nothing - ignore it?Is it wrong for employers; ex-employers; potential employers to 'spy' on people through FB? Or is it a legitimate source of information these days?
It is proposed that I should tell my manager that this is against my personal ethics
