Elderly Suffering Depression
An elderly female, aged 65 with the Maori ethnicity and has recently been diagnosed with depression. Living with her family in the area of Central Auckland. The female client visited a family psychologist for her depression and to help her get on with life. The elderly female does not want her family members to know about her depression, so they do not worry about her. Therefore, the elderly female requested the psychologist to maintain privacy.

The psychologist is a family friend, she breached the law and had told one of the family members that the elderly female suffering depression. Few days later, the member that knows about her condition came to tell the female that she must be well and that she needs to be treated as soon as possible, because if others know it would be an issue for her as being an old women and suffering depression.
It is proposed that the elderly female complains to the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC) about the psychologist who has breached the law.
