First take a look at the Board for this issue.
There is compelling evidence that the Finnish education system not only produces better 'exam and testing outcomes' but also empowers students to be creative, independent young people. So why is the rest of the Western world so focussed on testing, measuring, exams and league tables? Why are Western teachers not striving for change?
Crtics of the Finnish system say it is one thing to change the education system in a small country but quite another in a larger one, where the costs of change would be so much higher. Others say that the current system of 'measure everything' education is working well.
