BREAKING NEWS: NATO BID TO DEFEAT IS
The Islamic State Terrorists, known as IS (also called ISIS and ISIL) have been all over the news this year. They have recently taken control of much of the Middle East. The international group, Nato, has launched a campaign to "degrade and defeat" this major threat. There has also been much speculation that Britain could join the US with airstrikes. Ministers from the UK, US, France, Australia, Germany, Canada, Turkey, Italy, Poland and Denmark were also at the meeting.

At his own press conference, the British PM, David Cameron, publicly stated,
"My argument is you need that mixture of intelligent politics, diplomatic pressure, long-term engagement in a comprehensive plan as well as the potential for military or other more aggressive action. This will take time and it will take resolve. We will proceed carefully and methodically, drawing together the partners we need, above all in the region, to implement a comprehensive plan."

In a poll conducted by thecourier.co.uk this morning, the question was asked if the participant would support British military action. The result was extremely split, with 56% (443 participants) saying 'yes' and 44% (351 participants) saying 'no'.

What do you think of Nato's actions against IS? Are they sufficient enough or are they heading down the wrong path?

It is proposed that Nato's newly launched campaign to defeat IS is the right thing to do
