Brad Haddin was named in the Australian ashes squad for 2013. Not only was he named, but he was selected as Vice Captain despite not being in the team for the last 2 years. Haddin is currently 35, and is the second most experienced player in the squad. The theory behind bringing Haddin back is that the experience he brings will be hugely important in the role of leading the team with captain Micheal Clarke and coach Micky Arthur. Haddin replaced a younger keeper, Matthew Wade, who was one of the other main choices of being vice captain, showing the selectors value experience in a leadership role, over youthful thinking and ideas.
