Nonprofit organisations work toward any number of different goals, whether it's reducing child poverty, protecting the environment, or eradicating treatable diseases. The work they do is often very valuable, and improves the lives of millions of people across the globe. However, some nonprofits have been working in the same countries and same communities for decades. Is this work actually empowering these communities, or are the communities becoming completely dependent on the nonprofits working to help them?
It is proposed that nonprofit organisations should always work toward an end goal that means they are no longer needed.
